Give your home an instant refresh with a bright pop of color on your front door! Adding a fresh coat of paint is easy – follow our steps for a successful project!
- Make Your Supply List:
– Exterior Paint
– Paint Brushes
– Paint Roller
– Drop Clothes
– Painter’s Tape
– Sandpaper
– Putty Knife
2. Prep For Success!
Thoroughly cover the hinges and trim with painter’s tape. If you want to be extra cautious, you can remove your hardware!
Wash the door with a mild detergent solution, and scrape off any loose or peeling paint with a putty knife. Sand the entire surface with a light grit sandpaper to smooth imperfections.
Wipe away any dust with a damp cloth.
3. Start Painting!
Use a brush to paint detailed areas and a roller for flat surfaces. Apply thin, even coats of paint, letting each coat dry completely before adding another. Two to three coats are usually recommended.
4. Enjoy!
Once your paint is dry, add any previously-removed hardware, hang your wreath, and enjoy!
